An artistic, militant and inclusive project

Artistic

Artistic, it proposes artistic practices described as eco-art. Eco-art or anthropocene art has an ecological vocation: it is the use of artistic techniques to reveal the impact of human activity on the environment. Ecological artists use their environment as a starting point to create works that raise public awareness of the state of our planet.

Militant

Militant because it aims to raise awareness of the ecological cause and encourage action. Eco art is a means of alerting us to a state of crisis and ecological emergency. Art has always been and still is a political tool that helps to convey a certain vision of the world. In the visual arts, Picasso's Guernica is an emblematic example. To achieve this, eco-artistic practice needs to be visible through its positioning in public spaces or in places that people visit. It is not a confidential art form. Over the course of the project, Green Artist has regularly met the public and publicly presented its work.

Inclusive

Inclusive because it is aimed at a wide audience, including people with disabilities or those who are distant from cultural practices and venues because of their age, or their economic and social position. Inclusive practice means that anyone can take part in artistic practice and use their power to act, whether they are an established artist, an amateur or a novice. To achieve this, collaborative practices are an essential point of support, as they enable skills to be combined.

Green Artist brings together adults and children, with and without mental disabilities, in collective practices.

In practical terms, Green Artist takes action and offers artistic activities based on the following principles:

Green Artist wants

  • Raising awareness, raising questions and sounding the alarm on environmental issues
  • Ask questions, gather information
  • Protecting or restoring the environment
  • Restoring links with nature, putting humanity back in the picture

To achieve this, we need to

  • Creating, meeting challenges
  • Have fun changing your perspective, seeing or showing your surroundings from a different angle
  • Start from your urban or rural environment
  • Recycling, reusing rather than consuming to produce works of art
